 Readers and fans,

The article to follow is one of major accomplishment for an organization I joined in 2006.Women In Photography International (WIPI) has made some rather daring accomplishments in 33 years.  Jean Ferro the Organizations president article below explains the acceptance of the web site to Yale’s Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library They will have a FULL copy of the website. I'm excited to be included in a small piece of women’s history and women photographers

This is one of WIPI’s most important gallery presentations to date.  WIPI is going through a transition that will house and make permanent our MEMBER’S work and history within one of the most prestigious university libraries in the world..  Our transition will take place late spring, 2015.  So make sure your files are up-to-date!  We “may” be sending a request for prints and books in January.. depending on finding funding to support the extra work.  We are honored to have this extraordinary opportunity.... a dream come true!

The Charter Member gallery is a presentation to introduce the dedicated women photographers to Yale scholars so they can begin to learn the depth and wealth of WIPI’s talented artists.  The presentation will be circulated starting today and into 2015.

The Women In Photography International Archive (1981-2003) is held at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University, Peter Palmquist Western Americana Permanent Collection. The inclusion of WIPI's hard copy and digital files from mid-2003 to present will be added to the Beinecke collection in upcoming 2015. The WIPI CHARTER GALLERY - 2014-2015 is a spotlight to introduce current member artists, educators, professionals and masters of photography within an in-depth searchable online historical documentation of the organization and women's work.
